Andhra Pradesh Urban Local Body Polls Halted After Supreme Court Order

The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission has suspended elections for all 100 urban local bodies, including 13 municipal corporations and 87 municipalities and nagar panchayats, following a Supreme Court directive. The halt came after the YSR Congress Party alleged widespread violence and obstruction during candidate nominations. The SEC will review reports and decide on further action by October 22, with final candidate lists postponed until October 25, 2026.

Lion Injured After Train Collision in Amreli, Search Underway
