Ancient Egyptian Artifacts Found in Scottish Schoolyard After Decades
In 1952, a Scottish schoolboy digging for potatoes at Melville House in Fife uncovered an ancient Egyptian statue head. Further discoveries in 1966 and 1984 revealed a total of 18 Egyptian antiquities dating back over 2,500 years. Archaeologists remain puzzled about why these objects were buried in the schoolyard, spanning several ancient periods.
