Indian squash sensation Anahat Singh withdrew from the Canadian Women's Open before the quarterfinals due to injury, as announced on the PSA Tour website. Ranked world number 15, she had defeated England's Saran Nghiem to reach the quarterfinals, where she was set to face Egypt's world number 7, Feroz Abolkhair. Abolkhair advanced to the semifinals by walkover. Anahat recently made headlines by beating eight-time world champion Nour El Sherbini in the Silicon Valley Open quarterfinals. She also made history at the Asian Games as the first Indian woman to reach the squash singles final.
