Amazon to Pay Up to $200 in Prime Refunds After FTC Settlement
Amazon has begun issuing refund payments to Prime customers as part of a $2.5 billion settlement with the US Federal Trade Commission. The settlement addresses allegations that Amazon enrolled millions in Prime without consent and made cancellations difficult. The FTC expanded the refund program in September 2026, increasing the maximum refund from $51 to $200 and allowing more customers to qualify. Amazon has paid over $845 million so far.
