Amazon Rope Bridges Enable 15,000 Safe Wildlife Crossings in Brazil
In Alta Floresta, Mato Grosso, Brazil, eight rope bridges installed in 2024 have facilitated around 15,000 safe crossings by tree-dwelling animals over 15 months. Camera traps recorded multiple monkey species using the bridges, with zero roadkill reported, highlighting the success of this wildlife-friendly infrastructure in protecting animals from traffic hazards.
