Alphabet, Google's parent company, saw its shares fall about 13% after reporting third-quarter results, marking its worst single-day drop since 2004. The decline wiped out nearly $500 billion in market value, making it the second-largest one-day loss for a US-listed company, behind Nvidia's $593 billion loss in January 2025. This fall surpassed SpaceX's previous second-largest loss of $400 billion.
