ScienceAI System Helps Railways Prevent Over 250 Elephant Deaths in Assam, Bengal
Since January, an AI-based Intrusion Detection System using Distributed Acoustic System technology has helped prevent at least 255 wild elephant deaths on railway tracks in Assam and West Bengal. Installed on four stretches covering 200 km with elephant corridors, the system alerts train crews and forest officials in real-time to elephant movements, enabling timely action to avoid accidents, Northeast Frontier Railway reported.
