AAIB Blames Unstable Approach in Mumbai Learjet Crash

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) released its report on the September 14, 2023 Learjet 45XR crash at Mumbai airport. The crash was caused by the crew continuing an unstable landing approach in poor weather. The aircraft, VT-DBL, was on a non-scheduled flight from Visakhapatnam. All eight onboard were seriously injured. The report also cited pilot training and audit shortcomings at operator VSR Ventures. AAIB recommended DGCA review pilot training records for non-scheduled operators.
