70 People Die in Rain-Related Incidents in Karnataka This Year

In Karnataka, 70 people have died due to rain-related incidents this year, with lightning causing over half of the deaths. The state recorded fewer deaths this monsoon compared to previous years. Data shows 36 deaths from lightning, 17 from house or wall collapses, 11 from uprooted trees, three from landslides, and three from drowning. Since 2022-23, 779 people died in rain-related incidents, including 340 from lightning.
