A 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck near Panama's southern coast at a depth of 10 km, the US Geological Survey reported, revising an earlier 8.0 estimate. No immediate damage was reported, but people evacuated buildings. The US Tsunami Warning System warned of possible hazardous tsunami waves along coasts of Panama, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Mexico, and Hawaii within three hours. The quake was felt in Panama City and Costa Rica's capital.
