SciencePhoto: HT World4400-Year-Old Antennae Stone Tomb Discovered in Western Sahara
Archaeologists have dated a unique stone tomb with two long antenna-like extensions in the Western Sahara to about 4,400 years ago. The limestone monument, found at Wadi Lawash el Telli near the Sluguilla Lawash rock-art site, provides rare insight into prehistoric burial practices. Measuring about 54.5 meters, it is the first antennae tumulus in the Atlantic Sahara with an absolute chronology.
