4,450 Timber Structures Restore 110 km of Murray River, Boost Fish Numbers
Researchers restored woody habitat along a 110-kilometer section of Australia's Murray River by adding 4,450 timber structures. Over seven years, the number of Murray cod tripled and golden perch doubled in the restored area. Fish movement from connected source populations also helped increase these fish numbers, showing the success of habitat restoration efforts.
