3,000-Year-Old Horse Found in Ancient Egyptian Fortress
Archaeologists discovered the remains of a 3,000-year-old young male horse inside Egypt's ancient Abqaa’ fortress. The horse may have been used to pull a chariot, supported by nearby harness fittings indicating a military role. Excavations also revealed tablets with the names of Ramesses II and Merneptah, and an image of a captured Libyan prisoner from the Meshwesh tribe.
