278 People Found with Extrapulmonary TB in Pilibhit Campaign

In Pilibhit, a 100-day special campaign under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program detected 278 cases of extrapulmonary TB, where patients showed no cough, sputum, or breathing difficulties. The infection affected organs other than lungs. The campaign screened 53,679 people across 437 camps, identifying 1,664 new TB patients, with extrapulmonary cases comprising 17%. Pilibhit was awarded a Silver Medal in 2023 for TB elimination efforts.
