Seventeen-year-old Kumkum Mohod reached the women's individual recurve final at Nagoya by defeating China's Jingyi Zhu 6-2. By reaching the gold medal round, she secured one of two quota spots for India for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Kumkum became the first Indian woman recurve archer to guarantee a medal, having earlier won team gold and mixed pair silver at the event.
