143-Year-Old Limoges Town Hall Burned by Protesters
A 143-year-old town hall in Limoges, France, which survived both World Wars and served as a resistance hub during Nazi occupation, was largely destroyed after protesters set it on fire. The demonstrations were against the cost of living, school conditions, and public services. The building also hosted Belgium’s government-in-exile in 1940.
