11th Grade Student Commits Suicide After Caste and Beef-Related Harassment

In Coimbatore's Peelamedu area, an 11th-grade student allegedly committed suicide at home on October 21 after facing caste-based harassment related to eating beef. The student, from a government-aided school, was reportedly bullied by classmates following questions from a teacher about caste and diet for a scholarship program. The student's mother filed a complaint, stating repeated harassment and no action from school authorities. The accused teacher has been arrested.
