1 kg Hair Removed from Stomach and Intestine of 9-Year-Old Kerala Girl

A nine-year-old girl in Kerala underwent surgery at NIMS Medicity, Neyyattinkara, to remove about one kilogram of hair from her stomach and small intestine. She was diagnosed with Rapunzel syndrome, a rare condition where a hairball extends from the stomach into the intestine, causing severe obstruction. The surgery was led by Dr. Biju I G Nair after scans and endoscopy confirmed the hair mass.
